Our Tree Services in Ottawa

Every service we offer is available in Ottawa and the surrounding Franklin County countryside.

Tree Trimming in Ottawa, Kansas

Tree Trimming

Ottawa’s big pin oaks, sycamores, and maples need periodic trimming to keep limbs off roofs and utility lines and to reduce the weight that ice storms and spring winds put on them.

Tree Removal in Ottawa, Kansas

Tree Removal

Much of our Ottawa removal work involves large, mature trees in tight residential lots, dying ash trees hit by emerald ash borer, and river-bottom cottonwoods that have become unsafe. We rig and lower sections carefully to protect homes, fences, and neighboring property.

Stump Grinding in Ottawa, Kansas

Stump Grinding

In Ottawa’s established neighborhoods, stumps are often close to sidewalks, driveways, and buried utilities. We grind them cleanly below grade and leave the yard level and ready for sod or replanting.

What Ottawa Trees Are Up Against

Ottawa’s tree canopy is older and bigger than most towns in the area, and the Marais des Cygnes River bottoms add cottonwoods and sycamores that grow fast and shed limbs. Emerald ash borer has also reached Franklin County, so ash trees across Ottawa are declining and becoming hazards.

  • Storm Season: Ice storms and spring thunderstorms are the number one cause of tree damage in eastern Kansas. Regular trimming and timely removal of weak trees keeps the damage off your house.
  • Pests and Disease: Emerald ash borer, Dutch elm disease, pine wilt, and bagworms are all active in our area. We can tell you whether a struggling tree can be saved or should come out.
  • Overgrown Fence Lines: Hedge, cedar, and volunteer trees along property lines get out of hand fast. We clear them and grind the stumps so they stay gone.
