Tree Trimming in Ottawa
Ottawa’s big pin oaks, sycamores, and maples need periodic trimming to keep limbs off roofs and utility lines and to reduce the weight that ice storms and spring winds put on them.
Tree Trimming in OttawaGet Rid of Stumps for Good in Ottawa
In Ottawa’s established neighborhoods, stumps are often close to sidewalks, driveways, and buried utilities. We grind them cleanly below grade and leave the yard level and ready for sod or replanting.
Our stump grinding service in Ottawa removes the stump and the major surface roots several inches below grade, so there is nothing left to trip over, mow around, or sprout back. Grinding is faster, cleaner, and far less disruptive than digging a stump out, and it leaves the ground ready to seed, sod, plant, or build on.
Common Ottawa trees we work on:
Why Ottawa Homeowners Grind Their Stumps
Ottawa’s tree canopy is older and bigger than most towns in the area, and the Marais des Cygnes River bottoms add cottonwoods and sycamores that grow fast and shed limbs. Emerald ash borer has also reached Franklin County, so ash trees across Ottawa are declining and becoming hazards.
- Safety: Stumps and surface roots are tripping hazards for kids, guests, and anyone on a mower.
- Pests and Rot: A rotting stump invites termites, carpenter ants, and fungus that can spread to nearby trees or your home.
- No Regrowth: Many Kansas species, including elm, hedge, and cottonwood, will keep sending up shoots from a cut stump until it is ground out.
- Usable Space: Once the stump is gone, the spot becomes lawn, garden, driveway, or building space again.
