What Vassar Trees Are Up Against

Trees on lake properties around Vassar develop leans, cracks, and dead tops from constant wind, and a single failed limb can land on a cabin, dock, or camper. On the surrounding farms, cedar and hedge keep spreading into pasture and fence lines.

  • Storm Season: Ice storms and spring thunderstorms are the number one cause of tree damage in eastern Kansas. Regular trimming and timely removal of weak trees keeps the damage off your house.
  • Pests and Disease: Emerald ash borer, Dutch elm disease, pine wilt, and bagworms are all active in our area. We can tell you whether a struggling tree can be saved or should come out.
  • Overgrown Fence Lines: Hedge, cedar, and volunteer trees along property lines get out of hand fast. We clear them and grind the stumps so they stay gone.
